About Teresa (she/her)

IMG_20180801_130846This is the page where I’m supposed to talked about me, but I want to be very clear-  Therapy Is About You. To do my job well, I put myself aside and become fully present.  As I reflect understanding, acceptance, and compassion, you begin to see who you are without judgement, censorship, or embarrassment. In a safe and accepting environment, you become curious to explore the landscape that is you.  Once you are able to see yourself with compassion and understanding, you can begin the process of change. This may be the first time that you have felt seen, heard, and accepted. Therapy is where you are important. Who you are, what you think, and how you feel matters.

As a woman and therapist, I have an innate ability to make a strong connection to you, understand your perspective, and join you on your journey. I feel called to share my compassion, experience and clinical knowledge.  I recognize and trust your potential. My strength lies in instilling hope and empowering you to see yourself as strong, capable, and resilient. I will guide you to your own resourcefulness and knowledge. By taking care of yourself you will see who you are, what you want, and in the process find your inner voice and path. I strive to help you fulfill your potential and maximize your well-being. In addition, my focus on your health and wellness will increase your ability to adapt to changes and cope with adversities in your life.  In sessions, I will invite you to explore and redefine yourself. I may encourage you to engage with your creative self for deeper exploration through art, writing, poetry, physical movement, and/or play. I will challenge and guide you to make the changes you desire by teaching you how to adjust ineffective thought and behavioral patterns and define positive ways to approach your life lessons. Although therapy is only one hour a week, what we do in the office will transfer to your daily life between sessions. I look forward to joining you on your journey to Health and Wellness.
